The journey to the North-East is nothing but a purely mystical.Popularly known as the seven sisters-which comprises Assam,Arunachal Pradesh,Nagaland ,Manipur,Mizoram,Meghalaya and Tripura-it is connected to rest of the country by a narrow strech of land between Bhutan and Banagladesh.


While Assam consists of the flat ,low lying Brahmaputra valley , its capital,Guwahati,boasts of India's most important ancient temples and is the gateway to the region.An encounter with the one-horned rhino in the magnificent Kaziranga National Park is the highlight of the trip here.

Manipur has been described as the gemstone of the East due to its pretty valleys and hills. Meghalaya has beautiful lakes and includes the areas of Cherrapunji and Mawsynram. It's capital,Shillong, retains some of the colonial atmostphere .Majestic Arunachal Pradesh ,one of India's most remote states,is inhabited by a fascinating range of people , most of Tibetian origin.
In the state North Western corner,close to Bhuthan ,lies the Buddhist monastery of Twang,in sight of the mountanious border with Tibet.

Similarly,in the far north east is the remote wilderlness of Namdhapa National Park.To the south,the lush mountains of Nagaland are endowed with arich varieties of tourist attractions ,including monuments,water-bodies,palaces,mosques,temples and Buddist Stupas.Tripura also has a large number of Bhuddist Temples .



Unakoti,a Shiva pligrimage site has the largest rock-cut images and stone idols of Lord Shiva in Tripura.Mizoram,in the Lushai Hills ,has great natural beauty and rich range o flaura and fauna.To the additinal adventurous spirit ,the rugged terrain and swift flowing rivers are ideal for a range of outdoor sports and adventure activities.
